I decided to participate in Jessica Brogans Altered Art Card Swap You make a deck of 52 cards (as in playing cards) on a theme and you send them off to Jessica who does her magic and sends you back a new deck made up of one card from each of the participants. Exciting and scary at the same time – I have never done anything this small (the size of a playing card) or this large (an edition of 52) by hand! The theme is Nature and Found Poetry. I had to look up Found Poetry but loved the idea immediately.
So here are the first 13 of my Nature Deck and included my version of found poetry. I took a found poem A Wasp Flew in the Room Today by Brenden Taylor (see it at the bottom of the post) and just plucked words out and added them to my art cards. They make their own new poem as you can see. Then I noticed the coolest thing – if you shuffle the cards the new order makes another poem! Weirdly any pretty much any order seems to work! Wonder if I can do this for the next suit of 13!
