Inspired by a line of poetry from Home by Warsan Shire. No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark.
This page is very similar to another one I did not that long ago – it even has a similar colour way but the sentiment could not be more different. To compare and contrast here it is: J135 Dawning
I am often asked how I put my pages together so here is a mini step by step:
- Think about the quote, close eyes and fumble for some art supplies – I found 3 neo colours ochre, dark pink and grey and black ink. With eyes still closed draw some scribbles. Spray with water bottle.
2. Think about the quote and add collage that appeals from my small collage pieces box. Glue them down.
3. Think about the quote, what image suits and sketch it out. Use water colour to define the background.
4. Think about the quote and flesh (‘scuse the pun) out details of the sketch and add more marks and writing in the background.
